How it works
You set it up in a few minutes
In the Hello app, tell us your parent’s name, number and best time to call, a few things they love to talk about, and any reminders: pills, appointments, water, meals.
Hello calls every day
“Hi Ruth, it’s Hello, your AI companion. Is now still a good time?”
A warm, patient conversation of about ten minutes. Your parent can also call Hello back any time they want to talk.
You hear how it went
A short summary and mood after every call, whether the reminders were done, and a Sunday digest. When something sounds off, you get an alert showing exactly what was said.

It notices
Pain, a fall, confusion, loneliness, a scam call, a missed pill, or a day that just sounds different.

You choose who hears about what, and in what order: a text, a notification, a call. Every alert quotes the line that caused it, and no alert is ever silently dropped.

Invite brothers, sisters and grandchildren for free. Each person chooses which alerts they get; you choose who can read transcripts.
What Hello will never do
These are product rules, tested before every release, not marketing.
Never pretend to be human
Every call opens with “I’m Hello, an AI companion.” If your parent asks whether Hello is a real person, it says plainly that it’s an AI, even if asked to play along.
Never give medical, legal or financial advice
Hello repeats the reminders you set and may say “that sounds like something to tell your doctor.” It never diagnoses or advises.
Never keep a call going, or call outside agreed hours
If your parent wants to hang up, the call ends. Hello only calls in the window your parent agreed to.
Never record audio without consent
Transcripts are the default. Audio is saved only if your parent says yes on a call, re-confirmed monthly.

Questions families ask
Does my parent need a smartphone?
No. Hello calls any phone: a landline, a flip phone or a smartphone. There is nothing to install and nothing to learn. If they have an iPhone or iPad, the optional Parent app adds big buttons to call Hello or the family, see today’s reminders and look at family photos.
Will Hello pretend to be a person?
Never. Every call starts with “it’s Hello, your AI companion,” and if your parent asks whether they are talking to a real person, Hello says plainly that it is a computer program.
What if they don’t answer?
Hello tries again 15 and 45 minutes later. If it still can’t reach them, it follows the plan you set: text them, let the family know, then reach an emergency contact who has agreed to it.
Is the call recorded?
Hello keeps a written transcript so it can remember and so you can read the summary. Audio is only kept if your parent says yes on a call, and Hello asks again every month.
Who can see what my parent said?
Only the family circle you set up. You decide who in the family can read full transcripts; everyone else sees the short summary.
Can Hello call 911?
No. If something sounds like an emergency, Hello tells your parent to hang up and call 911, and alerts the family at the same moment. It never says it has called for help.
What if my parent doesn’t want the calls?
On the first call Hello asks whether it is okay to call each day. If they say no, Hello doesn’t call again. They can change their mind at any time, and any call ends the moment they want it to.
